Be familiar with the following terms used throughout this online help, and in other Moneris Go POS Restaurant documentation.

Term:	Refers to:
Moneris Go Restaurant app	The restaurant app that resides on the Moneris Go wireless terminal (for accepting card payments), and on a tablet (such as an Apple® iPad®). The Moneris Go POS Restaurant app is your main workspace to conduct day-to-day operations.
Moneris Go POS Restaurant portal (“Go Restaurant portal” or “the portal”)	This is the back office, cloud-based restaurant portal that should be accessed from a PC or laptop. This portal is used to perform administrative tasks such as employee management, data setup, inventory management, menu creation, and reporting.
Moneris Go terminal (“MG terminal” or “the terminal”)	This portable all-in-one terminal uses the Moneris Go POS Restaurant app for payment processing, taking orders and serving patrons.
Moneris Kitchen Display (“Kitchen Display app”)	This app is used in your kitchen/food prep area to display orders being taken in the app on the tablet or terminal.
Tablet	Refers to an Apple iPad or an Android tablet. The Go Restaurant app will function the same on both platforms, so the term ‘tablet’ will be used. However, if there are functions or processes that operate differently due to the nature of the tablet’s operating system, such as the way the tablets power down, then it will be called out separately e.g. For Apple iPad, do this… For Android tablets, do that…
“Long press” and “tap”	In the app, sometimes you may need to press and hold down on an on-screen element to interact with it; this is called a “long press”. The term “tap” is used to denote a shorter press on an onscreen element.
Options icon	This term refers to the three vertical dots that appear beside certain elements in the app. Tapping the Options icon brings up interaction options for the element with which the menu is associated. The Options icon will appear in a couple different ways depending on the context and the screen in which it was accessed.
Menu icon	The icon consists of three horizontal lines that appear in the top right corner of the app. Tapping the menu icon brings up the main menu of the app.
Online Ordering system	This term refers to an online component for handling food orders online. The online ordering system integrates directly with the menu that you build in the portal, the Go Restaurant app for customer and order management, and the KDA so that kitchen staff can prepare the food. These online orders can be for pick up or delivery.

As the Moneris Go POS Restaurant app works on many platforms, most screenshots in this guide will be taken from a tablet landscape view.

For certain app screens, the terminal version may look different from tablet version. In these cases, both versions will be displayed side by side. If you only see one image, assume that it is roughly the same screen that will display on both the terminal and the app.

Note: While the Go POS Restaurant app was in development, a watermark that displays the words “DEBUG only” appears in the bottom right corner of the terminal screenshots. Please be advised that this mark will not appear on production terminals that merchants will use in their restaurants.
