Promotion management overview

A promotion is an automated way of providing discounts to your customers to encourage more sales and to streamline the checkout process.  Go Retail allows you to quickly create, organize, and manage your promotions.  For each promotion, you can specify: 

  • start date and time (for example, 15% discount during the month of December)

  • an end date and time; this is optional

  • percentage or dollar value for the discount

  • which products and/or categories are eligible for the discount 

  • conditions for the discount (for example, the customer must spend at least $20) 

You can also create multiple discounts and activate or deactivate them as needed.  Discounts cannot be combined.  If more than one promotion applies to a purchase, Go Retail will automatically give the customer the best promotion. 

  • Note: You can still apply a discount manually to an individual product and/or to the whole cart. Refer to Purchase / New transaction.

View promotions

On the main menu, click Promotions.  The Promotions page appears showing all promotions.
